Dropping off the face of the earth...
Okay, so yyyyeah, it's been a while.

Thanksgiving was awesome. We had lots of people over. Thanks to everyone who showed up and brought food and played games and made it all fun! We must do this again next year.

I got moved to a different department at work! I love it! No more talking on the phones with people. I think I'm doing a really good job at it so far, though I'm still learning.

The black scooter is a really cold-starting machine, and I think I need to take another look at it to get it running better. The red one is also in, but I only just got the paperwork for it, so it's not registered and I haven't checked it out yet.

The weather's been too cold for scooters anyway. It's been below freezing, and we had some snow. Derrek's so giddy, he hasn't seen snow in years! I know the feeling. It's supposed to snow a lot more over the rest of this week too.

Money's awfully tight, and getting tighter. I got Microsoft Money to help me manage things. I'm going to be cutting way back on dining out, scooter stuff (since I've already got most everything anyhow), and groceries. Yes, groceries. $700 in a month is too damn much, and I'm going to stop buying luxuries and start making my roommates cover a more even share.

700 a month in groceries? How many are you feeding, and what are you making? For four people I bet you could do a quarter that.

I'm sure maybe $100 of that this past month has included a bit of Xmas shopping, as well... but I've been spending on average $500 a month. My one roomie says she's been buying groceries, but she doesn't usually buy anything I eat, whereas I buy a lot of stuff she eats...

Maybe, if that's the case, you guys should start sectioning off fridge and cupboard space for where you keep your own foods; particularly if she's eating yours, but buys stuff you won't/can't eat.

When we were living at Skykin Grove, with [info]emerald_scales the arrangement was that we would buy the food and make the meals, with a little extra here and there for snacking on. We were averaging $100/month per person.

Hey, congrats about the new department move. Best of luck with the whole bill thing. Wish I could cut back on the luxuries. Stupid self control. Glad you're happy though. Miss talkin' to ya. Wish I could make FC.

You spend $700 a month on food? Damn... I don't think *I* spend that much each month, and I eat out probably a lot more than you do.

As for Thanksgiving, it was fun! Thanks for inviting me, and I hope you enjoyed my simple contribution to the table. Looking forward to next year already.

I regret not being able to make it.
The situation of having no parents or family in resasonable proximity is sometimes a blessing as both Caly and I were ensconed with family related events for 3 of the surrounding Thanksgiving days.
I would be delighted to be a part of other events you intend to have in the future

I'm glad to hear that your holidays went well! :3 Also glad to hear work is becoming interesting and more tolerable at that.

$700 a week? O_o I mean you no offense but where the hell are you shopping?! I spend about $200-300 a month on groceries. And that's solely for myself. I don't buy for my roommates. Though that was a sort of understanding between us from the beginning. Try to eat out only once or twice a month. You'll appreciate it much more, and your wallet will too. xD

Hm, what other advice can I offer? Learn the difference between what you want (i.e. the "luxuries" you mentioned)and what you need and as hard as it may be, stick to what you need. Other than that, that's all I can tell you. Oh! And buy the Sunday newspaper, clip out coupons and shop for what's only what's on sale each week/something you have a coupon for. There we go, that's it.

I'm happy to know you're doing well, and take care. Hope to see you active on FA soon! <3
