Current mood: desperate

Need a Laptop/Netbook
I really need a new laptop. My current one is dead, and has been for a while. I keep finding a need for pulling up picture reference for crafts, or having to do things on a computer while friends are over, and other things that a laptop would make SO much easier and less frustrating. Actually, I don't care if it's a netbook. I just need something to pull up Internet pics, access FTP/SSH terminal. and maybe IM.

But I'm broke. (Part of why I'm looking at a netbook instead, besides ease of portability.) So, before I go trying to sell off personal items for cash to afford one, I was wondering: does anyone have a decent functional portable computing device of SOME kind they're willing to sell for cheap?

If you cross-post this to FA, (if you haven't already), I'll recommend it to the ADLM Spotlight. Maybe somebody in the movement will have a good, used laptop they'd part with cheap.

I went ahead and cross-posted, per request. As a little side note, if someone DOES find me a good little machine for little-to-nothing, I'll be happy to break my hiatus for a bit to doodle them something nice :3

H24-KR922 :: HP 2133 Mini-Note PC - VIA C7-M Processor 1.0GHz, 802.11b/g Wireless, 512MB DDR2, 4GB Flash, 8.9" WXGA, Webcam, SUSE linux

I acquired it at early in the year for $300 but it turned out not very fit for what I intended, so it's now collecting dust. The small peculiarity if that it has preinstalled SUSE Linux on it (straight from HP), but hey, it runs firefox, SSH and the like just as well, and you don't have to worry about the viruses. =^.^=

If you feel bad about accepting gifts, I can just put it on your tab :)

That would be perfect, and I don't mind Linux at all. One of my roomies is a Linux geek, and I ran Ubuntu on my laptop before it started slowly developing narcolepsy and mild brain death. (Bad sectors and crashing.)
